Tennessee River Cleanup
River Champions

At iSustain, our dedication to environmental protection goes beyond recycling. We actively support initiatives that create measurable change in the communities we serve. One example is our proud sponsorship of the annual Tennessee River cleanup hosted by Keep the TN River Beautiful. This event brings together volunteers from across the region to remove litter and debris, helping preserve the river’s natural beauty and protect its ecosystem for future generations.

Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful (KTNRB) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and the first-ever Keep America Beautiful affiliate dedicated solely to river preservation. With the help of passionate volunteers, KTNRB organizes impactful Tennessee River cleanup events each year, removing over one hundred thousand pounds of trash from the watershed to date. These dedicated efforts extend beyond the annual event, with initiatives taking place across the state year-round to protect the river’s health and beauty.
Kathleen Gibi, Executive Director of Keep the TN River Beautiful, has recognized iSustain as “river champions” for our ongoing commitment to the Tennessee River cleanup. “As a growing nonprofit, it’s all the more meaningful to work with a company that has consistently supported us since our early years the way that iSustain has. On top of the fact that their staff members roll up their sleeves and clean the shorelines each year at this series, they work year-round making an impact for our planet!” We strive to live up to this River Champions title through continued sponsorship and hands-on support for this vital organization’s mission.
A Shared Responsibility
iSustain’s staff members actively participate in cleaning the shorelines with KTNRB and work year-round through our recycling programs to make a positive impact for our planet. Various iSustain sponsored clean-up events through KTNRB have resulted in the removal of 19,901 pounds of trash from the Tennessee River in the past three years.
“So exciting to be a part of the KTNRB efforts to educate, create awareness, and make an impact on the litter in our waterways,” said Mark Huber, Vice President of Business Development for iSustain, Inc. and KTNRB Board President. “KTNRB is focusing on the source of ocean litter and microplastic contamination, and through outreach and education we can all make a difference on our beautiful waterways here in Tennessee and nationally.”
The achievements of KTNRB’s Tennessee River cleanup events serve as a rallying call for individuals and businesses to adopt sustainable practices and actively protect our natural resources. iSustain is proud to contribute to this vital mission, supporting efforts that make a measurable difference in the river’s health. Together, we can create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for the Tennessee River and the communities it sustains.
